About Connect Electric
Connect Electric is a Sydney-based electrician matching platform. We connect homeowners, renters, and businesses with licence-checked, insured electricians — for every type of electrical job across Greater Sydney.
What We Do
Finding a licensed, insured electrician in Sydney should not be a gamble. When you search online, you find hundreds of operators — but verifying who is actually licensed, who carries adequate insurance, and who has a track record of quality work is difficult and time consuming.
Connect Electric does that verification upfront. Every electrician in our network has been checked against the NSW Fair Trading licence register before they are accepted. We confirm their licence class, licence number, and expiry date. We verify their public liability insurance certificate — minimum $20M. We review their complaint and disciplinary history.
When you submit a job request, we match you with up to three licensed electricians who are available in your suburb and have relevant experience for your type of job. You get free, no-obligation quotes and choose the best fit. Every job is backed by a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW) — issued by the electrician on completion, as required by NSW law.
We cover all electrical work across Greater Sydney — from standard residential jobs to commercial fit-outs, 24/7 emergency callouts, and Level 2 ASP network connections for Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy customers.

Our Vetting Process
NSW Fair Trading Licence Verification
We check every electrician's licence number against the NSW Fair Trading electrical contractor licence register. We verify the licence class (to confirm they are authorised to perform the type of work they are applying for), the licence number, and the expiry date. Licences are re-verified periodically — expired licences result in immediate suspension from the network.
Public Liability Insurance Confirmation
We require a current certificate of currency for public liability insurance with a minimum cover of $20M per occurrence. We contact the insurer directly to confirm the policy is active and has not been cancelled. This protects you if any damage occurs during the course of the electrical work.
Complaint and Disciplinary History Review
We check the NSW Fair Trading complaint register and the electrical contractor disciplinary register for any history of substantiated complaints, licence suspensions, or disciplinary action. Electricians with a pattern of complaints are not accepted into the network.
CCEW Compliance Requirement
All electricians in our network are contractually required to issue a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW) on completion of every job. This is a legal requirement under NSW law — but we enforce it contractually as well. If you do not receive a CCEW, contact us and we will follow up on your behalf.
Our Coverage
Connect Electric is a referral platform. We are not an electrical contracting business and do not employ electricians directly. All electrical work is performed by independently licensed NSW electrical contractors in our verified network.
